Clean, Organize, Decorate

I'm done reading Good Housekeeping's Clean, Organize, Decorate book. I think everyone should have this helpful manual at home. This little book helps keeping your homes clean with lots useful tips on cleaning, organizing, and decorating. Bravo! The tips are very useful and all keepers of the home should share this book with their helpers at home. I particularly liked the gardening pages of the book since I plan to buy more plants for our home. Thing is, I just have a pocket garden and not a lawn where I could have a metal garden shed to protect all my gardening tools.
How I wish I could have a lawn or a garden as vast as what I have in Farmville. Haha! In case that happens, then I'd have to fully manage my time in the kitchen, and the garden. I promise, I won't have pink metal sheds if and when that happens.

Friday Fill-ins

1. The last band I saw live was Kamikazee. Love.. Love.. Love..
2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is rest day from work.
3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is done.
4. Thoughts of baking or making bread fill my head.
5. I wish I could wear a skimpy two-piece bikini.
6. Bagpipe is a type of musical instrument.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping without having to worry about getting up at 1am, tomorrow my plans include going to the wet market in the morning and watching a movie in the evening, and Sunday, I want to go to church, have lunch at my parents' place, and start wrapping Christmas presents!

TGIF!

Positivity Monday

I like what the "God wants you to know" application in FB for me today so I am posting it here on Positivity Monday:

On this day, God wants you to know...
... that peace will come when you let the presence of God settle into your heart. If there is to be peace in the world, there must be peace in the nations. If there is to be peace in the nations, there must be peace in the cities. If there is to be peace in the cities, there must be peace between neighbors. If there is to be peace between neighbors, there must be peace in the home. If there is to be peace in the home, there must be peace in the heart.

Very true, right? Happy Monday to all. Here's wishing for a productive week ahead.

Positivity Monday

You can’t change the whole world, and you certainly can’t change other people, but you do have the ability to change yourself. You can have a positive impact in your job, the people with whom you work, and the entire organization…the choice is up to you. –Cherie Carter-Scott

What color should your Christmas Tree be?

You Should Have a Green Christmas Tree

For you, the holidays represent tradition and memories.

You tend to do things the same way each year. You find your holiday customs comforting.

You enjoy all of the sights, sounds, tastes, and smells of Christmas.

You can't imagine getting any joy from an artificial tree.

Your green tree would look great with: Classic ornaments

You should spend Christmas Eve watching: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Where are your MANNERS?

Blind Item #1 : A young man who happened to sit beside me at a shuttle service on the way home coughed and sneezed like there was no tomorrow without even bothering to cover his mouth.

Blind Item #2: Also on my way home, a lady who works in a call center across ours (i saw her I.D.), talked too much and too loud over her mobile phone. I can't help but listen to the conversation because she was just seated behind me. At first, I admired her because based on the conversation she had with the person on the other line, who I believe was her brother, she was helping out with her family's finances. Not the breadwinner though, coz I heard her say that her mom will send in the money over the weekend. I wanted to confront her and say "Uhm, miss, pwede sa bahay ka na lang makipag-usap kung ipaparinig mo lang sa lahat na galit na galit ka at nagmumura pa?" Toink! I assume her brother was asking for extra money aside from the money she sent the other day. See? Can you just imagine that?!? I also know now that the person on the other line had debts to pay to an Aunt and a friend. I envy them, though. Their electric bill is way, way below than what we can consume. - Php 550. Congratulations!

Blind Item #3: A representative came up to our station to ask a question she had from a caller. Fine! It is my job to help out reps in need. My colleagues and I gladly answered her queries when all of a sudden she stuck her thumb and index finger on the sides of her mouth trying to get that foreign matter logded between her molars out. Arrgh! We all felt ashamed for her that we couldn't look. Good heavens!

***Ever wonder why they're tagged as Blind Item 1,2,&3? It is because I really don't know who they are. Well, except for Number 3 of course. I know her so well. Haha!

Love Charter on Demand

Ondemand

If you've been following my blog, I suppose you'd remember one of the resolutions I've made this year. New Year 2009's resolution number 4 is to WATCH MOVIES. As I've mentioned, I have never been a fan of movies. Call me weird? Yeah, right! My hubby is such a movie-freak. He knows up and coming films, and can still remember films that has been shown ages ago. I'd rather read a book instead of watching movies. I even mentioned setting up a checklist in my blog to tick off every movie I've seen. Fail! I hope that I don't pass this on to my future kids. Thank heavens for Charter on Demand where thousands of movies are showing from the classics to the latest blockbusters. All are available every day in HD. With the convenience of multiple start times and channels, you're never more than a few minutes away from satisfying an unexpected cinematic craving. Want to know more about this? Learn more at charter.net/ondemand. My husband will love this! I'd gladly entertain guests most specially during sleep-overs here at home after a drinking spree or poker game. During the weekends, I'd invite my cousins and niece here for a few games and snacks. When I have this installed, I'd easily get instant access to some of their favorite cable shows, kids programming, music, sports, movies and a whole lot more. With Charter On Demand it's like you have a library of thousands of movies and shows from networks like Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, Food Network. This is love! I'm certain, with this kind of set-up at home, I'd be a tv and movie freak in no time at all. Be a fan, get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page.

Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale

I got an email today from a certain airline company offering discounted fares to different destinations in the Asia Pacific region. Hmmmm... should I book a flight now and pack my stuff? I have just been to Kota Kinabalu with my colleagues and promised myself that my next trip will be next year. I also promised my husband that we're going on a trip out of the country by next year. I am thinking.. Thinking deeply. With the discounted fares out in the market today, I really could say that the price is so affordable. But these are just plane fares. Where are we gonna stay? What about the hotel or room rates? How much is it gonna cost us? Luckily, I found Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific. Wow! Coincidence, you say? I say, perfect timing! One million hotel rooms at amazing ratea across Asia Pacific. Beat that! And it's running for 3 whole days. What's more exciting about this promo is that it really suits the date when I want to relax and travel. Book your travel now for stays between December 09 to April 10, 2010. All I have to ask my husband now is where he'd like to go for the summer. Thailand, Korea, China, Japan, HK, Singapore, Vietnam, etc. Woohoo! More points added to my A|Club card.

Christmas is in the air

I love waking up to cool, cool mornings! Have you noticed how cool our mornings are? I can certainly feel that Christmas is in the air. I am starting to list down things I need to buy for our Christmas theme this year here at home. I also have started to play Christmas carols to bring that festive and jolly mood. I also plan to ask my sisters-in-law and husband what they'd want to have for Noche Buena. Oh boy, this is fun.

My list of gifts to give to my family, relatives, and friends are ready. I have not bought them yet, though. I plan to take a leave from work and buy everything in one day. I have been making theses lists, checking them twice, (as the song goes) until I realized I have not made a wish list of my own. I deserve a gift too, right? Haha. I'm contemplating on hiring a gardener to copy one landscape design in Scottsdale AZ I saw online. Maybe I could get more ideas from him and ask him what plants or flowers are suitable for this changing weather. Or maybe, I could also ask my husband to hire carpenters to build my mini home office. Hmmm... I need time to think about what I really want. It's too early to tell. Maybe I'd come up with a decision by December.
